Endpoint security

Endpoint security technology provides protection for endpoint devices (such as laptops, smartphones, smart watches Internet of Things devices) against malicious actors. Current day endpoint security technologies range from antivirus software, next-generation antivirus, to more complex forms of software which protect devices from sophisticated malware or zero-day threats (malware that has not been seen or used before) or offer data leak protection. Endpoint security is aimed to detect, analyse, block, and contain various types of malware attacks.

Using a client-server model where security is centrally managed the risk that infected enpoint can have a business impact is reduced. Also using cloud-based software (incl. Software as a Service) that is maintained by the vendor can reduce risk with endpoints. Endpoint protection and response platforms can remotely monitor the endpoints security to keep the total system of devices secure.
