MBO Rijnland Students Successfully Complete "Hack the Bridge" Challenge
Students from mboRijnland recently achieved an important milestone during the "Hack the Bridge" project at the Cyber Security Living Lab (CSyLL). The team successfully gained control over the simulated operational system responsible for opening and closing the Botlek Bridge, demonstrating both technical skill and the importance of securing critical infrastructure.
A key moment came when student Immanuel uncovered critical passwords that enabled the team to access and compromise the system. This breakthrough highlighted the value of hands-on cyber security training and practical problem-solving.

Under the guidance of Fabian Cras, the challenge provided students with real-world experience in Operational Technology (OT) security and IT & OT Risk Management. Through identifying vulnerabilities in a controlled environment, the students gained valuable insights into the security challenges faced by critical infrastructure operators.
Congratulations to Immanuel and the entire mboRijnland student team on this impressive achievement. By taking complete control of these operational controls, these students have proven exactly why testing vital Operational Technology (OT) systems is so essential.
