At Deloitte, we frequently perform "Red Teaming" security engagements for our clients. Borrowed from military terminology, the red team is responsible for emulating adversaries. The goal of red teaming engagements is to better understand the weak spots in your overall digital and/or physical security profiles, and how (digital) adversaries may abuse those weak spots to attain their goals. Unlike regular penetration tests, the objective of red teaming engagements is not to identify as much vulnerabilities as possible. Rather, it is to test your detection and response capabilities in a real-life threat scenario.
